Verifying SIM Status
What it is
This procedure combines verifying the device's SIM card identity (ICCID) with performing a physical SIM card reseat to troubleshoot and resolve issues where the device is unable to establish a cellular connection or complete the provisioning process.
When to do it
Example scenarios:
- When the Raven is not provisioning.
- When the Raven is not connecting to a cellular network.
- When the Raven is reporting SIM Errors in the events log.
How to do it
If the Raven is stuck on the

DOUBLE-PRESS the power button on the base of the device. A Debugging screen will appear.

TAKE A PHOTO of the screen.

Note: It may take up to 5 minutes for the ICCID field to load.

- If you see an ICCID Error, proceed to Performing a SIM Card Reseat.
- If you do not see an error, open the Support Tool and navigate to the Raven’s page.
- In the ICCID section, confirm if the number listed matches the number on the Debugging screen.
- If it matches, proceed to Performing a SIM Card Reseat.
- If it doesn’t match, proceed to Performing a Factory Reset.
If the Raven is displaying a
No Cellular Signal or
SIM Card Error icon
- Turn the thumb screw, located at the rear of the mount, counter-clockwise while the vehicle is parked to unmount Raven from the base.
- Power down the unit completely.
- Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the engine is turned off.
- Unplug the cable from the device.
- Hold the button on the base of the unit until you see the “Shutting down” screen.
- Remove the SIM card.
- If the security cover is on, please remove it.
- Use the corner of a credit card and push into the SIM slot.
- The SIM card will eject slightly.

Take a photo of the SIM card and check for physical damage.
- If the security cover is on, please remove it.
- Again, use the corner of a credit card or similar to push the card into the SIM slot.

Ensure that the card is seated properly, with the gold side facing away from the "SIM" label and the angled corner pointed downward. You will feel it click-lock.

- Finally, plug the cable back into the device and wait for it to restart.

- Device serial number(s).
- Troubleshooting steps you attempted and the results.
- Photos of the Raven’s display, debugging screen, SIM card number and SIM card seating.
